Nighthawks: A Short Poem

In the night we go hunting
Though we're not average joyriders
We search for knowledge and intuition
As it is our only defense and only power
Our last capacities before the hour

He is my guide, my torch
We get into stranger's cars
We listen and talk in twos
We hear great stories and adventures
His last wish before he's a pensioner

Before I close my eyes
I know he's there
And then we are off again
I've grown from an early bird to a night owl
As his frames glimmer, my vision is clear
We are going anywhere but here
