The Reality of Vacation

noun; an extended period of leisure and recreation
 

an escaped reality
an idea which parallels my world:
violence, injustice, corruption
switched for a harmonious utopia
sunshine, gold, illumination
working in unison like the perfectly calculated caliber
of a flock of birds seeking paradise.

​their vision is clouded
ethereal cathedrals
the murmur of linguistics beyond their reach
sweeping breezes leading to heavenly clouds beyond the horizon
daydreams, love stories, euphoria
breathtaking visions of beauty.

​my vision is clouded with the pitch black obscured,
the reality of vacation
noun; extended period of leisure and recreation.
lost to the bruises
to the shouts following your glimpse of my imperfections
being buried alive in an imperial coffin,
unknownst to those around you.
suffocating, gasping for air
looking for a door with the vibrant flashing crimson exit sign
yearning to discern the vacations I hear of in my fantasies.
