15 year old Zikora Akanegbu was tired of seeing girls constantly be cruel to each other. Instead of uplifting one another, she was shocked instead to see girls be cyber bullied and harassed online.

Zikora recognized that a platform was needed in her age of infinite connectedness and social media. Gen Z girls should be lifting each other up and having each other's back, not seeing each other as competitors, fighting despite a longtime campaign for unity. That's when she founded GenZHER Girls- a movement to do just that.

GenZHER is a platform for Gen Z girls and young women to feel empowered, connected, and inspired through spreading their stories of success, hardships, and inspiration. This online community was built on bringing the value of solidarity into our age of infinite connectedness and social media.

They believe in the power of Gen Z girls working in solidarity for our collective empowerment. GenZHER focuses on the activities, issues, and concerns of Gen Z girls by providing them access to reliable information and positive role models so all ‘GenZHERs’ feel empowered to reach their full potential.

"I believe Gen Z girls should not have to put each other down just to raise themselves up," Zikora said.

Zikora translated her desire into starting GenZHER Girls- a movement promoting solidarity and inclusivity between Gen Z girls and young women. Founded just recently in April 2020, her organization is a platform that was created to promote an inclusive environment for Gen Z girls to inspire, empower, and connect with one another through spreading their stories of success, hardships, and inspiration.

In a time of divisiveness and hate, Zikora wants a space for girls to not be afraid to speak their truth and build a community.

"I see GenZHER as being a place to talk about passions and triumphs, favorite books and movies, have meaningful conversations, but also be a place to ask for advice and unload struggles," said Zikora.

Entirely powered by Gen Z girls, Zikora's organization aims to connect these powerful girls and allow them to bond with one another while being able to share their voice, as well.

Gen Z girls are intelligent, powerful, creative, and capable of doing amazing things; the exact opposite of what society says they are supposed to be. They have a commitment to societal change shown through writing. Through Zikora's organization, they encourage Gen Z girls to share their stories and creatively write their views and perspectives on a wide range of issues - social justice, mental health, and more!
